An experiment:

Yesterday I did a test to see just how desperate the MMs were to buy MXAM at $0.04. The bid/ask was $0.040/0.041 and I placed a sell order for 40k shares of MXAM, limit of 0.040, all or none, good for the day. Just after placing the sell order, the bid was reduced to $0.039 and my order expired at the end of the trading day, the order wasn't filled.

Draw your own conclusions.
