Self medication is one way to explain addiction.

Yeah, its how an addict would put a good face on his addiction imo.

Are you talking about people who smoke every day? Is a person that smokes every day an addict, to your thinking?

I would think someone who gets high every day or who gets drunk every day is an addict and has a problem.

Does that change if a doctor tells them to smoke every day?

In a way. They have a more serious problem of some sort which the smoking will help.

Is someone who used every drug they can still a "pothead?" Or have they become something else? Are the "mixheads" still a part of your "most potheads?"

I don't know what to call them. From what I've seen, which must be different from some here, most people who use marijuana as often as possible will also use other things as available.

Also .. you know people that drink one or two drinks every day. Some people would call them addicted. I think you do not see this as problem drinking or addiction. I would tend to agree with you there.

One or two drinks a day isn't a problem. That's use in moderation. And almost everyone would agree.

I also think that you would believe any one that smokes every day to be a "pothead." And that every one of these people consume pot until they are ready to pass out. Have you ever considered that someone that smokes every day may only wish one or two puffs?

Is a regular light user a "pothead?"

Are there very many such light users? Guess I haven't seen them. I'm familiar with the guys and gals who smoke and eventually pass out.

Is "one or two puffs" equivalent to someone who has a drink or two. My lack of any experience with marijuana is showing here. You've boasted of posting here high all the time. Were you really high or just the equivalent of someone who'd had a beer?

Or is "pothead" simply a point of view. ie I favor pot so that makes me a "pothead."

No.
