Riesling can work well for Thanksgiving. For example, the Bonny Doon Pacific Rim, or the German "Dr. L" could be a suitable accompaniment for many tables.

I've also had good luck with Zin, you just have to avoid the high alcohol monsters. I've had luck with Renwood Sierra Series, this year it will be a Gnarly Head.
