Casino Royale

No one will ever replace Connery, but it is possible that something equally as good but different might happen with the Bond franchise.

Anyone who is a fan of Fleming's books will recognize Craig's performance as very true to the original works. I don't want to spoil anything for those that have not seen it, but don't go expecting superhuman action ala Roger Moore. The "Bond formula" of the past 35 years has been discarded and a couple of clever twists are used to both fool you and mark the transition from the middle Bond period (Live and Let Die to the last one, which was so forgettable I've forgotten the name) to this new direction. To be completed fooled by a plot twist in a Bond movie is quite a feat on its on.

Jeffery Wright is too great an actor to have been given such a small role, but my guess is that is only a prelude to setting up future roles.

IMO, the best Bond film since "Thunderball".

STOP HERE> SPOILER NEXT

Royale was long, but you left wondering what happened after the last scene. As this Bond is brutal, cruel, and very human, I'm guessing someone died a very, very bad death.
