Voters said: get the hell out of Iraq you incompetent Republicans. They did not say add more troops, they did not say keep doing the same incompetent whack-a-mole thing, they did not say widen the war.
They said: GET THE HELL OUT BECAUSE YOU REPUBLICANS CAN'T WIN ANYTHING OVER THERE.
That's pretty darn clear even when they weren't shouting.
The upshot of this week is that Republicans are fighting:
Bush: add 20,000 more troops, duh, I'm going on another holiday after this exhausting trip to Vietnam where I should have gone 40 years ago.
Abizaid: more troops won't help, don't add more troops, fewer troops don't help, don't take troops away.
McCain/Graham: add 30,000 more troops just for the heck of it.
Warner: the clock is running down from when I said things had to change in 90 days or else we're done.
Neocons: we should have advocated that another country, other than the US, should have invaded Iraq especially when incompetent Republicans are in office....uh,er,um...you should have done better.
Powell: I told you so. You should have put in 500,000 troops or something in that neighborhood you putzes. Nyah-nyah-nyah.
Poppy/Baker/et al: Thanks for the oil profits. Now we're going to come in and look all brilliant even if we're just a bunch of common schlubs because, next to you, rust looks brilliant. HEHEHEHEHEHEH.
Oh yeah, we're advocating putting in OUR DICTATOR Allawi. Democracy? We don't even like democracy in the USA, why should we want it anywhere else?
