I have a Sony DCR-TRV25 that I bought several years ago. I have never had a problem with it. Even the battery still holds a charge.

The only complaint I might have is that these days.. you can get the same functionality within a somewhat smaller unit. IMO the smaller your camcorder, the more you will use it. For instance, when I'm headed outdoors for a day of skiing, I almost always want to bring my camcorder, but more often than not I leave it behind. Mine is slightly too large for a coat pocket, which means I have to throw it in my backpack, which is not necessarily a safe place for it to be.
