Joey - Thanks for the Update on MicroCenter PC Sales

I just noticed that there will soon be a MicroCenter store opening up in Silicon Valley - near Great America in Santa Clara.

So the Pentium II machines are selling OK in Boston - good! I thought Intel only sold 7 or 8 of these - at least that's what the AMD folks told me - and they wouldn't lie, now, would they?

If you go back, see if you can get some numbers on the sales level of the MediaGX machines. For $499, that becomes almost a dicretionary purchase.

Some enterprising engineers should figure out how to "cluster" 2 or 4 of these MediaGX machines together to get "super" performance for under $2,000. What a technological feat if they could pull that off!

As for my opinion on commercials - I won't offer one. When I first heard that Intel was going to call the "80586" a PENTIUM, I thought that was a silly move.

Silly me.

Paul
