How did you know Xilinx is beating Lattice and Altera in ISP products? If so, Xilinx should expect to have a good quarter. Among the top 3 PLD vendors, Lattice is the only one that has not indicated a slow-down. I guess we do not know how each company does until they release the numbers in the coming weeks. CPLDs are quite different from standard ICs such as DRAM and SRAM. The design cycle is much longer, and there are alot more to it than just price. According to an EE Times article, Lattice owns more than 80% of the ISP CPLD market. Some companies produce more useless press releases than others. It is a way of getting the investor's attention. I think ALTR is the king of junk presses. It seems XLNX started to imitate this year. The bottom line is, every company has to show its number. Let's watch the numbers! YLR
