Some of the soldiers are basically wage slaves, paying huge interest rates for short term loans on their paychecks. Congress is actually moving to cap the short term interest rate that can be charged at 36%. If that sounds high, consider the fact that many are paying interest rates in the 100% to 1,000% range on loans guaranteed by their military paychecks.

Give them a break! Even if many of us question the wisdom of fighting a war of oil. The poor souls should not be exploited.
