Moonbat lunacy? You gotta be kiddin'. It is fact that the police do now and then appear as well-armed swat teams, especially when called to deal with dangerous criminals. It's a fact many policemen have no sense of humour, and not a few of them have been found to be "trigger happy" on black guys. It is fact that too many kids are diagnosed with various forms of attention-deficit disorder and are regularly prescribed Ritalin. As a matter of fact, Ritalin has become a billion dollar industry!!! and it is still growing!!! Not a few school kids come from dysfunctional families. These kids generally have mental problems and they are regularly prescribed Prozac or tranquilizers. In some places, girls were referred to docs for birth-control pills so that they may have sex "safely". Just so that they (boys and girls) would be able to calm down and hopefully hit the books. As for the statement: Our food is toxic, our air is poisoned, and our water is tainted with chemicals and radiation, I agree it is exaggeration and the author probably didn't expect readers to swallow it hook, line and sinker. It was inserted for literary effect, I believe, to emphasize an overall bad situation likely to get worse with time. BTW, not all readers read the article in the way you did. They understand more than you would be willing to give them credit for. The nice thing about it is that it came from PBS! .
