Maybe I am missing something but I see the assassination as part of Hezbollahs Coup attempt and I see Hezbollah as just another name for Iran...

so ineffect Iran is taking over Lebanon at Syrias expense...

A win/win for Iran in the context of their attempt to be the number 1 guy in the Middle East.

The assassination only points out how much more brazen and confident Iran is becoming in its endeavors to "wipe Israel off the map", through its funding and support of Hezbollah, and the funding and exporting of terrorism through Al Queda, where ever it can in the name of Allah.

I believe action must be taken to curtail Iran's middle east "adventurism" and agenda. One of many actions to do this is to take out Iranian nuclear facilities. This would also serve to humiliate them in the eyes of Iranians, thus undermining their power. However, my fear is that Israel will have to go it alone now that the Democrats have control of the house and the senate. I believe it is unlikely that Democrats would approve pre emptive measures and likely will not respond until citizens die as a result of Iranian sponsored terrorism on American soil. Surely the world must realize where Hezbollah and Al Queda get a substantial amount of their funding, weapons, explosives and logistical support? Cutting off that funding would go a long ways to winning the war against terrorism. Clearly regime change is Iran will be required to bring that about, and humiliating the current Iranian regime by taking out their nuclear facilities would help bring that about.
