Thanks for the kind words Maurice. I can't suggest how Co2 would diminish growth, but I posted some time ago field-studies which suggested it did. I'm not going back to look for them because that isn't an important issue. We can't assume that anthropomorphic Co2 will be automatically and equally balanced by sequestration due to enhancement of plant-growth. We know that hasn't happened since we started burning fossil fuels.

I don't know how big an effect the increase in CO2 will have on climate. I do know that the climate has changed quickly in the past. To me that suggests it is not globally stable. In this case I mean global over all parameters as well as over the whole earth. I'd rather we didn't discover how far we can perturb the climate before it flips into another regime. I don't know how much we should pay or how many pleasures we should give forego to reduce an unknown risk by an unknown amount. I think it's worth doing the easy things at least.
