Zoran/CompCore SoftDVD Now Supports Aureal Semiconductor's A3D Surround 3D Audio Software
SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 29, 1997--Zoran Corp. (NASDAQ:ZRAN) and Aureal Semiconductor Inc. (OTC BB:AURL) announced today that Aureal's A3D Surround audio software is now available as a 3D audio option which interoperates with Zoran/CompCore's SoftDVD product.
SoftDVD is the industry's first complete software application program that enables users to playback DVD Hollywood movies on their PCs.
By implementing A3D Surround software on the SoftDVD platform, PC users will now be able to experience surround sound using only two speakers. ``Zoran is very pleased to offer our OEM customers of SoftDVD the opportunity to bundle Aureals A3D Surround software with their PC products,'' said Paul Goldberg, Vice President of Systems Solutions and Audio Products for Zoran Corporation.

SoftDVD provides a software platform to tie together many diverse technologies including MPEG-2 video decoding, Dolby Digital audio decoding, DVD navigation capabilities, tamper resistant copy protection, and audio virtualization software from companies like Aureal.
Zoran licenses SoftDVD to PC manufacturers, graphics chips and card manufacturers, DVD disc publishers, DVD drive manufacturers, game makers and software developers. SoftDVD is available today for evaluation by qualified OEM customers.
