Men are usually not the target of those gypsies carrying babies. Women's purses are easily reached in a crowded Metro, whether in Paris or in Rome. My sister in law bought the Metro ticket at the window, she opened her purse, took out the wallet, and then went to the platform awaiting the train. That gypsy must have watched every move my sister in law made starting at the ticket window. Even though she was forewarned several times and therefore taking every precaution to guard her purse, she did not hold the zipper. What a costly tuition since she tried to call the credit card company from every available public phone which just swallowed her Euro coins but never got through.

Too bad that beautiful Rome and the nice Italian people are tarnished by those gypsies. My other sister in law got her purse back, and yet that gypsy went off scott free to prey on the next victim.
