When I read things like that, I am saddened by the extremely poor leadership we have.

Why can't we have far-seeing leaders who recognize that we can either make a lasting friend of China, or a lasting enemy? We're at that juncture now. Green technologies are a perfect area of common interest, but folks in Washington are still debating whether Global Warming is real, even as species are already dying off, Emperor Penguins are already down to 90 breading pairs from 300 in the North Pole and the average weight of Polar Bears is down significantly from 10 years ago. I'm not a tree-hugger, rather, I'm a right-leaning moderate who understands that US economic growth and national security entirely depend on what we do about the environment now. Take care of the environment through green technologies and we create entirely new and profitable markets for the 21st century and we we stop sending billions to the fanatical Muslims who want nothing more than to destroy the US. Invest in green technologies and we move away from a path that is already destroying the only planet humans have found that we can live on.

Why can't our leaders see this extreme imperative? They are so blind.
