Aside from the abortion issue, the issue of simply procreating to no end is also full of caveats. If the Chinese did not have restrictions on the number of children, there would be one of two consequences: there would be mass starvation (again), or they would have to expand past their borders. What do you do about massive overpopulation if everyone took 'be fruitful and multiply' literally?
