ADM and the other Ethanol makers are primarily corn-dependent - and the corn has to be high quality. Hence, USSE is no big threat to them the way I see it. USSE's desired feedstock is soybeans or other grains like low-quality corn, etc. that nobody wants to pay high-dollar for.

Soybeans replace nitrogen in soil - actually taking it from the atmosphere. So, rotating soybeans with cotton crops in the South would be a responsible thing to do. It would be associated with soil amendment planning, improvement, and conservation, IMHO. It would probably a good idea to have a chat with a Farm Bureau or University Ag Extension agent about the details of doing all that - since I'm not an Ag expert by any stretch....

Push comes to shove, states could start growing soybeans in the medians of their Interstate highways, Turnpikes, and/or larger divided rural highways to derive income from what they now just simply have to pay to maintain/mow.
