How to find a technology to make obscene profits?

Technology is based on the law of nature. If you are religious, it is god given and not patentable in letter patents. But you can do design patents and copyright the codes.

The law of nature covers all science and engineering. But it is limited by the supply of material on earth.

There are of course ways to change the supply in nature. Transmutation is one of the most signification technology. Uranium is changed to Plutonium by supercharging the atom with electrical electron bombardment. Silicon can be neutron bombarded to change to Phosphorus in semiconductor technology.

In software, the most significant business is data compression into a table to be read out.

So, we have the basis for creative thinking or creative design to use the best technology such as to change lead to gold for profit.
