You're absolutely wrong. The auto industry was very strong from Ford's Model T to 1973. Union labor didn't kill it. Oil shortages and high gas prices combined with slow to act management killed the US auto biz.

Now when management is thinking of building a new plant they often go for an overseas location to make even more money. Sure cheap labor cost's less. But it will cost this nation even more in the long run.

Even Ford new that he should pay his workers enough money so that they could buy a Ford automobile. Who can afford a new Ford on WalMart wages? Impossible.
