** OT ** Ralphie, don't forget to clean out the rubber ring on your expresso maker once in a while.

Just pry it out with a knife (make sure you don't cut it) and wash it thoroughly. As time goes by, coffee grounds get stuck in the seal and it starts leaking at the boiling point.

Coffee also gets trapped under the metal part which will fall out without the ring and that residual coffee can give the pots a bitter taste.

Just cleaned mine and the next pot was buonissimo.
