It is a PR campaign in the sense of getting OEM's on board without fear of retribution (warranted or otherwise) from Intel. Once they are fully on board, as Dell is, what would be the point of drawing attention to what might be nefarious dealings of one of your newest and presumably biggest customers? AMD of course will do whatever they can within the context of the lawsuit itself (i.e. at trial, or whatever) as everyone, Dell included, knew about the lawsuit long ago. But to throw eggs at Dell now, after the lawsuit umbrella has worked perfectly to get them on board, would be couterproductive.

Besides, the 'smoking gun' you refer to isn't a secret at all. It is out there for everyone to see. But AMD drawing attention to it NOW would be silly.

AMD banged the gong. Dell became a customer. No need to bang that particular gong again. At trial they may wrestle with various Dell/Intel factoids in order to win or in order to spice up damages, but that'll have nothing to do with PR.

All IMHO, of course.

JJ
