I don't think its any longer a rumor: Monday September 29 10:00 AM EDT Paul Allen raising Metricom stake LOS GATOS, Calif., Sept 29 (Reuter) - Metricom Inc said Monday Paul Allen, together with Vulcan Ventures Inc, has filed a 13D amendment for the possible acquisition from an existing shareholder of 2,583,500 Metricom common shares. This purchase would increase his position to about 33 percent of the outstanding shares, the company said. ``I am pleased that Paul Allen has once again shown his confidence in Metricom and its wireless data communications technology,'' said Chief Executive Officer Robert Dilworth. ``We've had a constructive and productive dialogue with Paul since his initial investment in 1993, and we look forward to early discussions with him regarding his potential increase in stock ownership.'' ------------------------------------------------------------------------ More news for referenced ticker symbols: MCOM, and related categories and industries: Networking, telecommunications, stock capsules.
