Very correct, Ish....but it appears that some folks are extra excited when they think Bush "lied" and that he "fired" Rumsfeld.

I feel a bit better after having read the entire transcript of his press conference that Lane23 posted....At least I could see that Bush acknowledged some of Rumsfelds accomplishments.

Rumsfeld has said ALL ALONG that the War in Iraq and Afghanistan was handled by the Commanding Officers in the field. The only thing that I think Rumsfeld should have done is fire some Generals perhaps. But we would have to look at the entire situation, from the actual boots on the ground, bottom to top, as well as what was going on in the Pentagon top to bottom as well.

The Pentagon and the State Department appear to be peopled by some snakes who are so inbred they want the civilian leadership to fail, no matter who is in charge.....

Wouldn't it be nice to know how each employee in both Departments voted over the years.....Of course, that won't happen, but it certainly would be an interesting HUGE scrap of info.

Technically he didn't fire Rumsfeld, he accepted Rumsfeld' resignation.
