Well the world knows that the Democrats were a tad slow to get enthused about the second world war. Some Americans started fighting in Spain, but the rest of the country felt secure. Democratic Interest seemed to pick up just before Pearl Harbour, and they were surely vexed until they beat the snot out of the perpetrators. Then they got all mushy and politically correct again.
