I didn't know I was poor, walking to the outhouse in the dead of winter was just part of life. Oh really! It must have been interesting watching the tv people using bathrooms within their houses, or seeing people in movie theaters use indoor plumbing while attending a movie. Oh wait.......you might have been too poor to have a tv or they probably didn't have talkies while you were a kid. Well let me tell you mr-salt-of-the-earth-americana-poor, either you were rather dense growing up, or you're simply blowing some smoke on this thread. We had a tv, went to movie theaters and had indoor plumbing, but I knew we weren't rich. There were any number of clues which became apparent in the contrast between my family's lifestyle and the lifestyle of others. So please, save your "aw shucks poor but decent American stuff" for the GW Bush thread......they'll eat it up.
