Global warming and global cooling are both within the framework of the greenhouse theory. As I've explained before, global warming is caused in large part due to increases in the levels of CO2, methane, nitrous oxide, and other gases. Global cooling is caused by the absorption and use of those gases by natural land and sea based ecologies. Those cycles are part of the natural earth's ecosystem. However, due to human industrial activity, we now have broken out of the narrow patterns established over the last 800,000 years and have set a new average level that exceeds the upper control limits from the prior 800,000 years. That should concern everyone, becuase that is indisputable fact.

We can all argue about the severity of the consequences and what caused this increase, but the other indisputable fact is that there will be temperature increases across the globe as a result of these increases in C02 levels and accompanying that will be some well known disasters impacting humans.
