Rightwing pundits lie about taxation of the rich all the time. I was listening to Hannity a few weeks ago lie to his audience that Democrats consider $60,000 per year "rich" and will raise your taxes. This kind of blatant lie is typical.

What Hannity is really doing is trying to protect the idle rich people making a million a year or more who are the real targets, and who have been getting the biggest breaks. Democrats usually define "rich" as over $200,000 per year, but also offer greater write-offs for families with kids and tuitions. Dems will also fight to lower energy, health care and education costs.

When I was growing up, conservative and patriotic Americans considred it their solemn duty to contribute through taxes to our society. In fact during WWII people bought war bonds and gave even more. These days the rightwing has rallied against taxation of any kind, and now you see the results. Way out of control deficit spending and the dollar dropping 50% since 2000.
