Mr. Bush is still in charge of the Executive branch including the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, et al. The Democrats "plan" that you are worried about won't come to pass unless he abrogates authority....again. The democrats won't turn off the homeland security pursestrings. Remember...it is the democrats who have pushed for container security (not the republicans) and for full implemnetation of the 9/11 Commission recommendations (not the republicans). You can feel safe, Shorty, until 2008 at least. And you don't think that just maybe our billions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of people focused on a civil war in Iraq might just be distracting from that real threat you seem worried about? Gee...what if he took 1/5 of what we are spending trying to keep Shia and Sunni from killing each other and put it on real border security of every type? Oh, I know...we have to fight them "there" so they don't "follow us home". (One of the dumbest arguments I have yet heard - like they couldn't follow us home if they wanted to now).
