File No. 82-3822
Standard & Poors Listed

September 29, 1997

NovaWest Resources Inc. ( the "Company") is pleased to announce that incoming assays
received have indicated that previous grade estimates of elements comprising Ni-Cu
sulphide haloes, as noted in NovaWest's August 22, 1997 press release, were too
conservative.

Newly discovered zones of mineralization up to 300 meters in strike length assayed up to
9.3% Cu with spectacular, ore grade, precious group elements (PGE's) greater than 1.2
o.p.t. found in association.

The specific PGE values are as follows:
Pt @ .575 g/t
Pd @ >10 g/t
Ag @ 26.7 g/t
Au @ 0.3 g/t

Numerous anomalies comprised of these same pathfinder elements have been identified
on the NVE Raglan Properties.

The Company notes that grades of this significance are rare. These grades exceed any
reported to date within the Raglan camp, that the Company is aware of.

ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF NOVAWEST RESOURCES INC.

Frank P. Puskas
Director-Geologist
