Oh I get it all right. You think people are all for "wars of choice" when they don't have to fight them. Well, I can argue that people are all for higher taxes when they themselves don't have to pay them.

So while you argue for making people serve in the army, I'll use the same logic and argue for making people pay the same percentage of taxes.

No need to tell me that some people are better able to pay taxes than others, or that paying taxes has never been voluntary, because the point is that it doesn't make any sense to force people to do something just to make them think the way you do.

Now I have no problem with some sort of mandatory public service just for the sake of it. But it's extremely hypocritical to accuse Bush of sending sons and daughters into harms way, only to advocate the exact same thing to make people turn anti-war. To me, that's the worst kind of "chickenhawk." Call it bellyaching or whatever you want. I don't expect you to be anything but defensive.
