Right. But mass extinctions are marked with the extinction of two thirds or more of existing species. What happens then? Polar bears are already on a rapid road to extinction, they are starving to death. They are engaging in unusual behavior like cannibalism. The lack of pack ice means that they cannot hunt effectively.
