A friend described her third grade class as a lunatic asylum from the middle ages just before she quit teaching....the bright kids have been mainstreamed out, and the disruptive ones for whom there used to be special classes have been mainstreamed in.

For the second time since 1995, the SAT standards have been lowered to make kids look as though they're achieving any kind of education.

I don't know about you, but my stockbroker once had the gall to tell me that one of the company's clients was Michael Dell, so OF COURSE, he got breaks and deals I couldn't and shouldn't possibly expect. Oh, well.

And then there are those who make a million a year and pay zero taxes while opportuning themselves of all that "the rest of us" pay for with ours.
