I think that nothing happens in April 2007. Qcom indicated in the last CC that by end of 08 various court cases should have progressed far enough to pressure a settlement. I see nothing less that qualcomm being awarded significant royalties on GSM devices, or injunctions in western europe, as being sufficient to force a settlement. These cases will not be far enough along for the conclusions to be obvious by April 07. I am afraid Nokia has succeeded in putting the deep freeze on qualcomm shares for at least 1.5 to 2 years from this spring, when the assault and corresponding drop began. I doubt this will have the desired effect of pressuring qualcomm management to settle on terms favorable to Nokia, however. Qcom can always fall back on saying they manage for long term investors, which in this case is true, and bring out the ten year charts vs Nasdaq, telecom, etc, or just about anything else you can think of, and still look good. The only problem is some of us had thought long term was going to conclude sooner than it now appears.
