Intel always had a larger R&D budget. Always. So, what is different now, compared to say a year or two ago?

If what you are saying is that Intel will kill AMD on the balance sheet, well, that needs some elaboration, doesn't it?

But if you are saying that the increased R&D budget will quickly overpower AMD in product performance, well, you still need to support your argument. (from a later post... non-sleeping giant... that's again just an opinion.)

Definitely, this Q the debate is not about can-they? but about by-how-much. Intel's PR-ish responses can get it a soundbite here and there, a WSJ front-page mention too, but with all tier-1 on multi-vendor, it's no longer a factor.

In short, could you outline your winning strategy for Intel?
