But it is already happening. This information isn't from the blogs, but the results of studies done. By real scientists who work in the field. The assumptions aren't shaky, but based on models and ice core data. The Ocean Conveyor has shut down in the past. It shuts down on the scale of a decade or so, and gets re-established on the scale of centuries or longer.

Now true, you can just make something up and claim it is on equal footing. But that doesn't make it valid. You might as well decide that if you wave your hands a certain way you can teleport to Mars.
