HP Cuts Cost of Fast Internet Pack by 30 Percent; Price Drop
Part of Company's Drive to Reduce Cost of Computing for Small
Businesses

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 29, 1997--As part
of its drive to lower the costs of computing for small businesses,
Hewlett-Packard Company today cut the price of its HP fast
Internet pack by 30 percent. Scheduled to take effect Oct. 1,
this impressive price drop is expected to bring street prices
for HP's high-speed modem value pack for small businesses
down to as low as $119 (U.S.).


The HP fast Internet pack is a complete 56Kb/s(1) fax modem
solution optimized for use with HP Brio small-business PCs. It
includes all the hardware and software needed by small businesses
to fully exploit the Internet at high speed: a U.S. Robotics
56Kbps fax modem -- the fastest type of modem available using
analog phone lines;
Microsoft(R) Fax installer (Microsoft
Fax is part of Windows(R) 95); CompuServe software; connected
remote-backup service software; HP software for remote technical
support; and a modem cable.
