That doesn't solve the problems of what to do now,...

History is replete with similar situations. When the British were leaving their colony of what now India-Pakistan, there were communal riots, movement of population etc. etc. When everything subsided, the people took power in their hands and formed their Govt.

Bush's actions in Iraq is not only troubling to the West but even the Iraqis are baffled. Now there are rumors (yes indeed, the WH leaks memos) that the US "once again" is about to remove the Iraqi PM Al Maliki. I wonder why the US thinks that they can usurp the power and the rule of the Iraqi people who went out and exercised their democratic rights by electing these folks to Parliament. Let these folks decide if Maliki should be removed or not.

So now with the impending firing of Maliki by the US, the Iraqi pride has been hurt and that is going to snowball not only with Al-Sadr and his group but many other insurgents, who are considered as Iraqi as distinct from Al Qaeda who are foreigners.
