Depends what you think of the so-called hydrogen economy. I believe that H2 is only and for ever a carrier of energy, not a replacement for depleting fossil fuel (or of any other energy source). If that is so, while the claimed new technology of Alchemy may turn out to be a useful alternative to H2 tanks (under pressure), it is not otherwise important. The process is still an energy sink (a carrier, at best, with certain as yet unknown energy losses) not an energy source.

My analysis has led me to the belief that hydrogen is probably more a distraction than anything else in the long term transition to a low-energy (sustainable) future, and not otherwise fundamental or important.

It is an interesting discussion area, and some of the simplistic positions on hydrogen taken by politicians have a tendency to mislead non-technical people, I'm afraid.

Tony.
