Hi Mephisto,

No we don't have much snow Mephisto. Just a skiff. But it is cold though for this time of year, sub-teens in the morning, 30's for the high.. I covered our new grape vine roots yesterday with compost to help protect them from deep freezing....

So I have been walking outside lately or running on the treadmill inside.. .. But today, I needed fresh air, so I started out walking today for a nice quiet 3 mile walk.. Well, lo and behold I met up with a local Dem woman activist, I just wanted to be alone, but she wanted to walk and talk about things so I did.. It turned out fine, she is nice and we had nice walk and talk.. She reminded me of another meeting tomorrow night, but I told her we have opted out for a bit..

For I am burn't out on politics for awhile.. I am tired.. I have put my heart and soul into this stuff, since before the Iraqi war which I was against.. Actually before the Afgan war.. For war NEVER settles a g'damn thing.. The human condition has NOT evolved one iota if they think it does..

I am no "johnny-come lately" on the tragedy in Iraq or any other place... I took a lot of heat but I was right, like some of my friends here on SI... But I am tired now..

I just WISH that others that are NOW so against the war would have spoke up BEFORE the war to try to stop it. It is easier to never enter a swamp than try to get out of it...

Some did but many didn't.. I did a quick advanced search of the political threads of SI to see who stood up to the Bush lies BEFORE. But I didn't see that many names, I know now.. Those against the war know who they are though and I applaud them to the nth degree :)

If ALL would have STOOD UP then, when it was tougher to do so, but so easier in the LONG RUN.. we wouldn't be in this mess we are now..

Thank you for listening.

Thank you for being my friend..
