Since the election is over, it's a good thing to keep the political competition in Washington from defining political debate for awhile. Bush was incapable of explaining the struggle against Muslim terrorism. Too bad that Cheney doesn't do more of his speaking.

I don't care if you put 100,000 US soldiers in Iraq or 1 million soldiers in Iraq. You aren't going to teach the Muslims any respect for religious pluralism. The problem with the whole situation in the ME is 100% an Islamic problem. The only way to keep their influence out of our society is to appease them by letting the kill and torture one another in their own countries. That's what Muslims like to do, kill people to show how much they love their God. Peace be on Allah!!

The only thing I learned from 911 is that Muslims are much more violent than I thought. It's engrained into every part of their religion. am beginning to see things the way the Jews see things. If we can just survive the next 5 years alongside the Muslims, those will be 5 good years. I hate to become a cynic, but a realistic view of Islam does not offer any hope for religious respect or tolerance from them.

In this respect, I don't see any day in the future of Muslim relations any different than today. I expect the current stage of conflict to last for generations. Such is the nature of Muslims, so we had better use our security to contain the violence. However, it's time to step back from the inter Muslim power struggle and let them fight it out on their own.

It will be sad to hear about all the Sunni's getting slaughtered by the Shiites when we leave. However, it's going to happen whether we like it or not because that is the laws of Islam.
