Since it's so important to you, and he won't commit, I'll give you an answer.

For a 143mm2 die I would consider anything above 70% to be excellent yields. I'm not saying that's what Intel gets but that answers your question.

So a question for you. What would you consider excellent yields and what do you think Intel actually gets?


I would call yield above 70% outstanding for a 143mm^2 die. My rough estimate is the mid 40s (say 44%) on CMW and around 60% on
81mm^2 Cedar Mill.
