Alone in the wilderness dear General - he made it 30 years with no maid, no butler, no chef, no nice hotel, no car, no lice covered assassins - how did he do it??
sure, social chaos will be set off by monetary reset, but not at the peninsula hotel in new york.
I stayed at some nice hotels in hawaii and atlanta, new york never appealed to me.
Lesson from hanging around places experiencing stress and military coups ... go to the fanciest hotel, and hang out with the officialdom at the lounge. Don't you know that?
I watch this Chef called Anthony Bourdain because I like food and cooking - he was in Bierut when the bombings started - his security escort took your advice and moved dear Anthony to a very nice hotel while the airports and small homes got bombed. Personally I was very dissapointed in dear Anthony - here was a great chance to get out and experience the city - instead he cowered like a wimp lounging by the pool. Here you can watch it too - but then you say you have personal experience of cowering by the pool eh? hehe Seek adventure - fly to it - like a moth to a flame - don't flee like a yellow coward - your grandpa chose to fight - not run to the nice hotel eh?

Anthony Bourdain, chef, author and host of Travel Channel's "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations," and his four-person crew were trapped in Beirut while filming the series. After a week of laying low, Bourdain and his production crew landed back in the states on Friday, July 14, after an exhausting journey that included time on a military landing craft and the USS Nashville.
Bourdain was online Wednesday, July 26, at 11 a.m. ET to discuss his time in the international city and his thoughts about what was once a burgeoning hotspot for international travelers.

Anthony Bourdain: Hello, glad to be back and grateful for the opportunity to talk about what I saw in Beirut.

University Place, Wash.: Can you describe what you were doing at the time when the first attacks started? How far away were you from your hotel?
Anthony Bourdain: I watched the airport being bombed about a mile from my hotel. I watched the second missile strikes on the airport fuel depot.
My crew and I were all assembled in my room emptying my minibar, nervously trying to keep a stiff upper lip, trying to follow the example of our Beirut-y contacts and friends who were still maintaining some false bravado.
Lesson from four generations of wandering ... keep most of the moolah away from self, far away. Do you not understand why?
Come to my orange groves with your shiny metal when the world resets - you will starve to death - do you not understand why?
Do you know how to enjoy a good revolution? What one does is wear rags, dirty face, blend into the crowd, and yell, "down with the capitalist pigs! and take all their stuff, and off with the heads!".
