EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 1, 2006) - Firestone Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:FV - News; FWB:F5V) is pleased to announce the completion of the first 14 core drill holes of the 2,200 metre (25 to 30 hole) winter 2006/2007 drill campaign at the Company's Torlon Hill zinc project. The drill core mineralogy from these holes suggests that the zinc mineralization defined in the previous drill campaign extends for 150 metres to the northwest of previous drilling.

Three of the drill holes completed to date are in-fill holes drilled in the outcropping north "Bulge" area of high-grade zinc mineralization. Previous holes in this area include TH06-02 (33.0 metres of 22% zinc, including 17.1 metres of 31.9% zinc) and TH06-05 (39.5 metres of 5.7% zinc). The remaining eleven holes are step-out holes drilled at 25 metre to 50 metre spacing along two lines extending 150 metres northwest of previous drilling. A total of 595.8 metres has been drilled to date with hole depths ranging from 21.3 metres to 67.1 metres. All holes were drilled vertically.

"We are very pleased with the progress of the drill program, which is ahead of schedule," says Lori Walton, President of Firestone Ventures. "We will now move the drill to test the southwest area, including the newly discovered Cincos Hermanos high-grade lead-zinc-silver zone."

The road-accessible Torlon Hill project is located 18 road kilometres northwest of the city of Huehuetenango, near the Pan-American Highway in western Guatemala. A total of $1.2 million has been allocated to the winter 2006/2007 Torlon Hill zinc exploration program, which includes diamond drilling, detailed geological mapping, sampling and prospecting of prospective terrain and continuation of the ongoing environmental baseline studies. A drill hole location map showing the new drill holes is available at www.firestoneventures.com, along with previous drill results, news releases, a longitudinal section sketch, FAQ sheet and photos. Assay results are not expected until January, 2007.

This news release has been reviewed and approved by John Cleary, (CPC), Qualified Person for the Torlon Hill project in accordance with regulations under National Instrument 43-101 and by Al Workman, P.Geo., Vice President of Watts, Griffis and McOuat Limited.
