The american people would have overwhelmingly supported doing what ever necessary to take thoes bastards out, even crossing the border into pakistan.

Those "bastards" adher to the same fanatical religious ideology as the Jihadists in Iraq.

Except that Afghanistan is a economic black hole, while Iraq contains more oil reserves than Saudi Arabia.
