This is very close to Fusion that AMD has scheduled for late 08 / start 09. Nehalem will need to compete with Fusion rather than only with K8L derived cores. Also this is a much smaller gap than I think DougSF implied it to be often enough - see my previous post that has a lot more content to it.

BTW, the above article is more about the strength and weaknesses of Quad FX vs Kentsfield. It mentions Nehalem as a side line thing. It includes the below 4x4 pic in which the double HTT IO point to point connections are nicely made visible. I'm guessing that the comparable Intel system uses the FSB to connect two separate DC processors in one package with two separate nVidia PCI express chips for graphics (one bus connecting all).
