No, that is head in the sand sophistry. That is "yeah, ok when we were in control we frakked things up,but unless you follow our rules you are worse". That is "let's ignore the reality of compound interest for the sake of partisanship". That is the way of whiny children. The adults have to clean up the mess now.

Taxes will have to go up. The sooner we address the problem, the smaller the burden will be on the future. Lazy, across the board cuts isn't the answer. It takes time to figure out where to cut and how much. Your guys were handed a budget that was balanced and headed for decent surpluses, they decided that was stupid. If they had grown the budget in a uniform way, then across the board action could be on the table, they did not. So if we want to keep such departments as Border Patrol and the VA, we need to be more surgical. The problem? It takes time.
