Reductio ad absurdum. You learn to do that when you live with a philosopher. My point was that many make the argument that a tax cut will always yield an increase in tax receipts. That is an absurd statement and that was my proof. If you want to make the statement that it will if there is over taxation, I don't have a problem with that. If you want to make the statement that cutting taxes will stimulate the economy and the growth will eventually result in higher tax receipts, I can even go along with that to a limited extent. That shifts the argument to how much of a long term debt can be carried without long term harm. Or how much and how fast spending can be trimmed.

But Shorty presented that as an absolute and Harris backed him on it. That shows limited understanding of the underlying economics.
