As a long time reader of the Mod. AMD thread and a contributor to the thread by hosting the EPS contest and all of the other archived data on the contest website, I have something to say...

First, please give Rink a break! He's doing the best he can, dealing with folks that basically don't get it or don't care.
The whole point of the moderated thread is to have a high signal-to-noise ratio. This is why it is required to be COURTEOUS. When folks get insulting things degenerate and the SNR goes south. Be thankful I'm not moderating cuz I would have a much itchier trigger finger. (And no, I won't do it - I'm much smarter than Rink that way. ;)
Doug has tried and generally successfully taken the high road of late and it is MUCH appreciated. I don't care what he posts ANY WHERE ELSE (i.e. on the OT thread), but he has been abiding by the rules on the Mod thread.
Others quite simply have not. All you have to do is be polite, people! Post whatever you want ANY WHERE ELSE (i.e. the OT thread or iHub or Yahoo or on your blog or up your wazoo for all I care), just keep it polite on the Mod thread.
If you think you're dealing with a moron, just reveal it with your arguments and remain polite. If you can't do that without resorting to name-calling then who is the moron? Besides, I'd bet it is much more frustrating from the moron's perspective to be politely exposed as an idiot. What is the recourse for that, except to keep acting like an idiot?
Finally, for those of you that wish to poke jabs at Rink or complain about the rules or say anything at all that isn't about AMD please do so here! If you have a free account and can't post here, then put up or shut up (or perhaps I should say put up or stay on topic...).
