OpenROUTE Networks, Inc. Appoints Eugene Y. Chang Vice President of Sales and Marketing

WESTBORO, Mass., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- OpenROUTE(R) Networks, Inc.
today announced that Eugene Y. Chang, an executive with more than two decades
of experience in the networking industry, has been named to the new position
of vice president of sales and marketing. Chang reports directly to Daniel J.
Capone, Jr., OpenROUTE Networks president and chief executive officer. Chang
joins OpenROUTE Networks from General DataComm Industries, Inc., Middlebury,
Conn., where he had been serving as assistant vice president for systems and
architectures. He assumes both marketing and sales responsibilities for the
Americas.
In making the announcement, Capone said, "Our new marketing and sales
initiatives will be more specifically focused on business relationships with
Internet Service Providers, OEMs, public network operators who manage private
networks, and partners with brand recognition in the markets and channels they
serve. Gene Chang has the right skill set and depth of experience to help

Chang joins a senior management team that has been strengthened in recent
weeks with the appointment of Richard J. Arena as vice president of
international sales and marketing; the promotion of Steven J. Bielagus to vice
president of business development; the promotion of Robert A. Koch to vice
president of product development and management; and appointment of Steven
T. Shedd as chief financial officer.

Prior to General DataComm, Chang was vice president for strategic business
development at Zoom Telephonics, Boston. Before that he was vice president of
ISDN/Digital Access Technologies at Microcom, Norwood, Mass. Chang had
previously founded Extension Technology Corp., Framingham, Mass., a company
that was sold to Microcom. He began his long career in the networking
industry at BBN Communications Corp., Cambridge, Mass. Chang earned
engineering and computer science degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology and holds six U.S. Patents for the development of networking and
transmission products.
