What alternative would you suggest?

My personal opinion is that Doug should get the boot for any number of reasons. If nothing else there should be a reasonable limit on the number of posts any one poster can post in a day. I have him on ignore but sometimes I almost wear out my finger skipping over the ignored posts. Then there's the issue of his countless aliases both here and on iHub. This is pathological behavior in my opinion. It doesn't matter what "team" he's on. He should go.
